Thanks for posting - Watched it earlier. Would have been good to have had audience questions filmed as well to dig down on a few of the details. Otherwise a very bright future ahead if they execute to plan.
Just listened to the XTR podcast - Colin mentions that in other parts of his stable he is looking at upgrading from 2% to 10% before transportation.
There is a comprehensive look at Copper Ore sorting here:-
https://www.911metallurgist.com/sorting-copper-ore/
"The four major types of mechanical ore sorters are electronic, photometric, radiometric, and conductivity-resistivity. The main difference between the sorters is in the detection operation; each uses a different physical property of the rock for separation."
"Photometric ore sorters use an optical property such as color or reflectivity. A system of this type using reflectivity has sorted ore in a South African gold mine since 1969. Radiometric sorters detect the presence or absence of gamma rays as the basis for separation. This method became the first successful sorting system when it concentrated low-grade uranium ore in the late 1940’s. Conductivity-resistivity sorters measure either the conductivity or resistivity of a rock, compare that measurement to a standard, and then either accept or reject the rock. The first serious effort to use this technique was in the early 1930’s, but no practical and accurate system was developed until the early 1970’s.
In the electronic method, ore pieces are individually introduced into the electric field of a tuned coil oscillating at high frequency. If the piece contains enough metallic copper, the frequency of oscillation is altered, triggering the ejection. The alteration is detected by the beat-frequency technique."
Hi Datacheck - You said maths might be wrong - I think it is
If you have 50K Tonnes of Rock at average 1% then that's 500 Tonnes of contained Copper.
If you could remove 2K5 Tonnes of Waste (0%) then you can't have any more contained Copper remainig than 500 Tonnes.
47K5 @ 5% would be 2375 Tonnes.
Think we'll have to wait for more detail on how it will shape up

Thanks Analytical - A few options open then it would seem ref Luansobe
I recently re-listened to the ************* Shares Conference that Tom Winnifrith organised online in May 2020. It seems crazy to think this was pre Luansobe, Shinganda, Bullawayo, and just the start of the Kalahari journey. Gallileo was valued at 2Mn quid with Colin adamant that a deal would be done ref Glenover and that we were "dancing but not sure who we were going to take home!". Here we are - yes more than double the amount of shares in issue but with so much more and the full Glenover deal almost complete. Tom is a distant past having fallen out with Colin quite publically online but Colin as ever just getting on with business. The market doesn't recognise what we have yet but I'm staying fro the ride.
Some more great snippets in that podcast. Analytical singled out for the analysis - keep it up....
Can anyone comment on the concentrating the ore point? - Colin was adamant that he'd be trucking 40 to 45K tonnes per month at a 4-5% grade after concentrating up the ore. If this is the case the resultant copper per annum moves to 22K-27K tonnes per annum and the open pit is depleted much quicker...The upgrading ore plant will cost circa $2.5-4Mn hopefully by then the Afrimat residual money will be in....
Latest Roast podcast shares snippets of conversations at Inyoni. 21 mins in one of the process guys tells how they expect to increase extraction percentage of the contained PGMs from 35-38% to 60 - 70% effectively doubling the PGM oz production in the next 3 to 4 years. Info from Roan and Kabwe visits as well so a very interesting listen
In depth interview with Stephen Helmsley well worth a listen to see the direction of Franchise Brands:-
