My mail centre is being flooded with them. Maybe Rico has a spend spend spend stratergy to keep things looking grim.
Spot on Phunt.
Parcels are up 20% in my office. That's a fact not a guess. Letters are down. Agency staffing bill will be massive as we are still running at 15% sick. Profits will be below expectations imho.
Yes but they are not.
Extra staffing costs are eating any extra turnover.
Let's hope so and Scotland too. Then we can charge them airmail prices.
Don't blame the Tories, blame CHINA! All those that have died and will die would have died regardless. The whole point of the lockdown is to stop the NHS running out of capacity and not being able to treat people efficiently. That hasn't happened yet.
Will prove a disaster for RM. If one gets symptoms then anyone you came into contact with will be told to self isolate until they can get the results of a test. Whole areas of mail centres and whole DO's will be shut down.
Ok nvm. I would prefer the pubs to open anyway.
Getting a 1700 quid bonus. Posties turn next.
You forgot the issue of backdating average pay.
What have you done for the good of others lately?
Those that have been advised to stay at home don't have to stay at home if they choose not to. Many would survive if they caught the virus. Been a fat bloke in his late 50's like me is at more risk than some of those so why didn't I get a letter? Why not share the divi out with us? What would that be, about £500 each?
No chance. Not much free stock around and who would sell him theirs at these prices? I would rather we be re nationalised than sold to a billionaire and so would CWU.
I know other workers who have had a cash reward for taking the risk of coming to work. I don't agree that anyone who stays at home should get a reward though.
I'm not sure that they would be allowed to offer shares to employees and I question your figure of double forecast when in my mail centre parcels are up around 20%.
We should see a relaxing of lockdown next week hopefully. But how will it play out?
Option 1. It is as the scientists say and only around 10% of UK population has had it. That would mean lots more waves and lockdowns with maybe another 250k deaths over the next 12 months.
Option 2. It's been around longer than they think and 50% people have had it with no serious symptoms. Another 30k deaths over the next 12 months but no more lockdown.
Option 3. Only 10% have had it but it's not as contagious as they think so with social distancing it is kept under control until a vaccine is found. No more lockdown.
Always those that will milk the system Wolvsey. In this mail centre it's not always possible to stay 2m apart. Sometimes we have to work shoulder to shoulder. New agency staff are here daily also. These things create an extra risk but the only choice would be to stay at home which I could do but then if everyone did there would be no post do one has to show a little courage.
Too cheap. It should be at least a week but only for those that have worked.
How about a shorter working week? More than 50 people in my office deem it too dangerous for them to come to work, even though they haven't had a letter telling them to isolate. I'm not sure if they are on full pay or not. I think those of us that have put ourselves in danger every day should get a cash reward.
