Week Ahead: Taylor Wimpey, Land Securities, Kesa

Taylor Wimpey will kick next week's results schedule off with a trading update that should see a continuation of the stabilisation the housebuilder was seeing back in November. Sector peers Bovis, Barratt Developments and Persimmon have all recently released relatively upbeat trading statements, though all remain cautious on prospects for 2010. Property group Land Securities brings out an interim management statement on Tuesday. The stock was recently added to Goldman Sachs's 'Conviction Buy List' to reflect exposure to London office rents, amplified through planned West End developments.On Thursday, Comet stores owner Kesa Electricals will find its performance being compared to that of Currys owner DSG International. DSG traded ahead of expectations over Christmas and saw an 8% increase in like for like sales in the 12 weeks to 9 January compared to a year earlier, yet the stock price was nevertheless hammered. Kesa may therefore be under pressure to top DSG's performance, which would require an improvement on recent trends.Like for like sales at Comet rose 2%, ahead of forecasts for 0-1.5%, in the six months to the end of October, Wednesday will see the release of the minutes of the January meeting of the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC).
