Vodafone appoints former Standard Life's CEO as non-exec director

(ShareCast News) - David Nish has been appointed to Vodafone's board of non-executive directors, the mobile communication giant said on Tuesday.Nish, who served as chief executive of Standard Life from January 2010 to September this year, is also currently on the non-executive board of directors of UK Green Investment Bank, having previously held the same role at Northern Foods and HDFC Life."David is a highly experienced business leader who helped build Standard Life into one of the UK's largest asset managers, delivering significant returns to shareholders," said group chairman Gerard Kleisterlee."His financial expertise and capital market skills will be a complementary addition to the board and I am delighted to welcome him to Vodafone."Vodafone shares were down 1.54% to 204.00p at 0809 BST on Tuesday.
