Tuesday preview: easyJet to report annual results

Mon, 18th Nov 2013 14:48

easyJet is expected to report a 50 per cent increase in annual earnings on Tuesday to beat rival Ryanair, according to consensus. The European airline is tipped to post a pre-tax profit of £476m this year up from £317m in 2012. Ryanair, on the other hand, has cut its profits outlook to as little as £418m this year. Should the airlines end the financial year as expected, it would be the first time easyJet has achieved a higher profit than Ryanair. Also reporting results on Tuesday are ITV and Diageo. It will be relatively quiet day on the macro-economic front. ZEW's German economic sentiment index for November will be released and is expected to climb to 54 from 52.8 last month. A reading above 50 signals expansion. The report will come a day after Bundesbank said Europe's biggest economy is growing solidly and its upturn will likely be consolidated in the coming months. While Germany achieved growth of 0.7% in the second quarter, preliminary data shows it expanded by just 0.3% between July and September as exports weighed."There's a good chance that the economic upturn in Germany will be further cemented in the coming months," the central bank said in its November monthly report.Residential construction and private consumption, boosted by robust labour market and strong wage increase, have helped lift the economy despite weak exports.Tuesday November 19thINTERIMSBig Yellow Group, Carclo, CML Microsystems, Eckoh, Entertainment One Limited, Halma, Homeserve, Intermediate Capital Group, Mckay Securities, Schroder Real Estate Investment Trust Ltd, Sepura, Vectura Group, ITV, DiageoINTERIM DIVIDEND PAYMENT DATEIntu PropertiesINTERNATIONAL ECONOMIC ANNOUNCEMENTSNew Car Registrations (EU) (10:00)Wholesale Price Index (GER) (07:00)ZEW Survey (EU) (10:00)ZEW Survey (GER) (10:00)Q3AFI DevelopmentQ4GW PharmaceuticalsFINALSeasyJet, Enterprise Inns, GW PharmaceuticalsANNUAL REPORTWorld Careers NetworkIMSSFBD Holdings, Galliford Try, IFG Group, Keller Group, Paddy Power, Smiths GroupEGMSMarwyn Value Investors Ltd., Nokia OYJAGMSBerkeley Resources Ltd.
