TomCo Finds Generator Supplier To Begin Testwork At Holliday Block

Mon, 04th Jun 2018 11:54

LONDON (Alliance News) - TomCo Energy PLC on Monday said its field testwork at the Holliday block in Utah will start in September while it has also agreed the supply of radio frequency generators.

The oil shale exploration company said its 80%-owned TurboShale has completed the engineering designs for the radio frequency generators, which are necessary for the field test programme on TomCo's Holliday block.

TomCo said American manufacturer Continental Electronics Corp will supply two of those generators, built to TurboShale's specifications.

Delivery of the generators is scheduled before the end of September. After that, the field test programme will run for about six weeks, the company said.

The field test is aimed at showing the commerciality of TurboShale's technology and its ability to extract oil from the Holliday block at a low production cost.

Last Thursday, TomCo said it had hired Himes Drilling Co Inc for drilling four bore holes and installing the well heads. The work is expected to be completed during August.

"We are particularly pleased to have made this important order with Continental Electronics Corp, as the generators represent the key piece of equipment needed to undertake the field test," said TomCo Chief Executive John Potter.

"Continental Electronics Corp is a leading manufacturer of high power, high frequency radio frequency broadcast transmission equipment and they have made a major commitment to our field test with the support they have provided," added Potter.

Shares in TomCo were trading 5.6% higher at 6.98 pence each on Monday.
