Thursday preview: SuperGroup posts interim results

SuperGroup will report its latest interim results on Thursday, four weeks after unveiling better-than-expected second-quarter growth.The parent company of fashion brand SuperDry last month posted growth of 18.5% with retail like-for-like (LFL) sales up 7.8%, boosted by womenswear and online shopping.The firm noted that, ahead of the important Christmas trading period, it is confident in its ability to meet market expectations."For the half year, given the solid trading performance, we look for profit before tax to move ahead from the £14.7m reported last year to £17.5m and expect more detail on the international expansion, progress/benefits on the logistics side, and the performance of womenswear," Numis said. "While we continue to have concerns over the longevity of the brand in the UK, it is difficult to argue with the consistent LFL delivery and, alongside an exciting international story, the 20x calendar 2014 earnings multiple looks justified; we retain our 'hold' recommendation."Also out with trading updates tomorrow are Wood Group, Sports Direct and Domino Printing.On the macro-economic agenda, the European Central Bank publishes its monthly report and data on Eurozone industrial production and US retail sales will be released. Eurozone industrial output may have climbed 1.1% in October, in line with the previous month's rate of growth, consensus estimates showed.US retail sales are expected to have risen by 0.6% in November, up from the prior month's 0.4% increase.
