Ted Baker looking fine for Summer

Tue, 14th Jun 2011 16:34
Ted Baker, the fashion retailer, has announced a 15.2% increase in revenue for the 19 weeks between the 30th of January and 11th of June 2011.Retail sales were up 9.4% on the same period last year and the company managed to increase its total shop floor space by 4.4%.The firm has also opened new stores in Manchester, Paris and Hong Kong and concessions at department stores in the US, Spain and Portugal. The interim management statement does admit however that gross margins are slightly lower than the equivalent period last year, partly because of expensive promotional activity. Figures were not provided.Commenting on the results, founder and Chief Executive Ray Kelvin said:"Looking forward into the second half of the year we plan to open new stores in the UK, New Zealand, China and America, whilst maintaining our focus on design, quality and attention to detail which underpin the core strengths of the Ted Baker brand."BS
