An unusually large amount of trading in the shares of Gresham Computing has pushed the share price downwards. The provider of real time financial software has a December year end and it reported its annual results in April last year. The number of shares traded is the most on any single day this year. Most of the trades were sells and the majority were of packages of 10,000 shares. The interim management statement in January stated that trading improved significantly in the fourth quarter of 2009. Annualised cost savings of £2.6m have been made. Imagination Technologies' management is in town this week following last week's trading statement. The chip designer's meetings appear to be having the desired effect because the shares are the best performer in the TechMARK index today. In its interim management statement, Imagination said that there was a marked increase in interest in licensing prospects. However, licensing revenues in 2009-10 are expected to decline. Royalty volumes are growing.
