Tank pump fire out at Marathon Texas City refinery -local media

HOUSTON, Feb 28 (Reuters) - A storage tank pump fire wasextinguished at Marathon Petroleum Corp.'s 451,000barrel per day (bpd) Galveston Bay Refinery in Texas City,Texas, about an hour after it broke out, according to localmedia reports.

Marathon spokesman Shane Pochard said the fire broke out onhoses on the pump, but the tank did not burn.

Pochard declined to say if operations at the refinery, whichwas owned by BP Plc until Feb. 1, were affected by theblaze. (Reporting by Erwin Seba)
