Standard Life Hires Head Of Investments From Aberdeen Asset Management

Tue, 13th Dec 2016 11:03

LONDON (Alliance News) - Standard Life PLC said on Tuesday it has appointed Archie Struthers, formerly of Aberdeen Asset Management PLC, as head of investments in its asset management arm.

Struthers will join Standard Life Investments on January 9, having previously been global head of investment solutions at Aberdeen.

Struthers will report to Standard Life Chief Investment Officer, Rod Paris, and have responsibility for investment governance, the investment operation platform MyFolio, and derivatives counterparty management.

Struthers will replace the current head of investment process, Bill Lambert, who is retiring from Standard Life in March after 13 years. Lambert will continue in his existing role until the end of March 2017, and work with Struthers on the handover of his responsibilities.

"Archie has a blend of direct investment experience and client relationship management, across geographies, asset classes and investment channels which will equip him well for this broad investment management leadership role. His expertise from working in a multi-asset solutions role over the past 15 years is also an ideal fit for Standard Life Investments, as a market leader in multi asset investing and investment solutions," said Rod Paris, chief investment officer at Standard Life Investments.

Shares in Standard Life were down 0.9% at 357.30 pence on Tuesday.
