SMALL-CAP WINNERS & LOSERS: SIG ups outlook after strong third quarter

Fri, 22nd Oct 2021 10:53

(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers among London Main Market small-caps on Friday.

----------

SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

----------

BMO Real Estate Investments Ltd, up 5.5% at 85.2 pence, 12-month range 52p-87.55p. Reports net asset value per share of 110.5p at September 30, up 8.2% from 102.1p on June 30. "The UK property market delivered robust returns over the third quarter, with investor sentiment continuing to improve," firm notes.

----------

SIG PLC, up 3.7% at 48.06p, 12-month range 23p-65p. The building materials firm lifts outlook after weathering price inflation and supply chain pressures. Third quarter sales rise 17% year-on-year on a like-for-like basis. Although the annual climb slowed from 33% in first half, SIG notes like-for-like sales growth accelerated when compared to pre-Covid times. The company expects its full-year underlying operating profit to top current market forecasts.

----------

Record PLC, up 3.3% at 81.17p, 12-month range 36.33p-107.64p. The specialist currency and derivatives manager says assets under management equivalents total USD84.1 million at September 30, down slightly from USD84.5 billion at June 30, but notes net inflows of USD600 million in the higher-margin Dynamic Hedging product.

----------

SMALL-CAP - LOSERS

----------

On the Beach Group PLC, down 4.7% at 322.5p, 12-month range 200.5p-517p. The travel stock has fallen 11% this week so far amid worries over rising Covid cases in the UK. As of 9am on Thursday, a further 52,009 laboratory-confirmed cases in the UK were reported, the highest daily number since mid July. It follows a warning from Health Secretary Sajid Javid at a Downing Street news conference on Wednesday that new cases could reach 100,000 a day.
