Sirius Real Estate Gets "Serious" About ESG With Promotion To New Role

Thu, 18th Feb 2021 09:02

(Alliance News) - Sirius Real Estate Ltd on Thursday announced the promotion of Marketing Director Kremena Wissel to the newly created role of chief marketing & impact officer.

In her new role, Wissel will be in charge of the German business parks investor and operator's environmental & social governance strategy, aimed at helping the business deliver sustainable returns. This will include examining the potential for the decarbonisation of the portfolio and incorporating the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures framework into the company's reporting.

Wissel has been part of Sirius Real Estate for 15 years since 2006, with her most recent role being as marketing director for nine years since 2012. On taking her new role, she will still be responsible for the group's marketing activities.

"ESG is an embedded part of the Sirius business and is at the heart of the way we continue to deliver successful returns in a sustainable and ethically sound way. Kremena has been integral to the development of our ESG credentials to date and formalising the new role of chief marketing and impact officer reflects how serious we are in ensuring that we maintain and increase the momentum of delivering high standards of ESG throughout our group," said Chief Executive Officer Andrew Coombs.

Shares in Sirius Real Estate were up 0.1% at 91.80 pence on Thursday in London, while its Johannesburg shares were down 0.2% at ZAR18.64.
