Shares in Silence Therapeutics have fallen by 15% after it admitted that bid talks had ended. AIM-quoted Silence originally said that it was in bid talks on 6 September 2010. The share price is not much higher than before the bid rumours started. Silence says that it received a number of indicative proposals but management did not find any of them attractive enough to pursue. Silence is involved in developing RNA interference (RNAi) therapeutics. RNA interference (RNAi) is a system within living cells that helps control which genes are active and how lively they are.
