REPEAT: Revolution Bars New CEO Pitcher To Start On June 25

Fri, 20th Apr 2018 10:49

LONDON (Alliance News) - Revolution Bars Group PLC on Friday said its incoming Chief Executive Rob Pitcher will join the company on June 25.

Pitcher's appointment was announced by Revolution Bars in early February, though no joining date was given at the time.

Most recently before his appointment, Pitcher was divisional director of restaurants at London-listed Mitchells & Butlers PLC, making him responsible for brands such as Harvester, Toby Carvery, and Stonehouse.

Before Mitchells & Butlers, he held roles at other hospitality companies including Bramwell, Stonegate, Town & City, Laurel, Spirit, and Scottish & Newcastle Retail.

In early March, Revolution Bars said it had sunk to a half-year loss despite revenue rising as exceptional costs associated with the failed takeover approaches it received and lease charges dragged on earnings.

For the six months ended December 31, the bar operator posted a pretax loss of GBP4.0 million from a profit of GBP5.0 million the year prior. This was despite revenue growing to GBP73.9 million from GBP66.7 million the year before.

Profit performance was harmed by GBP9.6 million in exceptional costs in the period from none the previous year.

Revolution Bars was at the centre of a takeover tug of war last year. In mid-October, its shareholders rejected a GBP101.5 million cash offer from Stonegate Pubs for the company, which was originally made in August.

Earlier in October, Deltic Group Ltd withdrew its own second merger offer after being repeatedly rebuffed by Revolution Bars, having already made one before which was also rejected.

Revolution Bars shares were down 0.7% on Friday at 150.89 pence each.
