(Alliance News) - Pets at Home Group PLC on Monday named Lyssa McGowan as its new chief executive officer.
McGowan is currently Sky UK Ltd's chief consumer officer, responsible for its Consumer business, which serves over 10 million customers and brings in USD10 billion in revenue. McGowan has held various leadership positions at Sky, achieving growth organically and through mergers and acquisitions. She was also a non-executive director at Wm Morrison Supermarkets PLC until recently when it was sold to Clayton, Dubilier & Rice LLC.
The appointment will be effective from June 1, and McGowan will become CEO designate from April 25. She takes over from Peter Pritchard, who announced his intention to leave last year. He will oversee a handover until May 31.
"Lyssa brings strong corporate, strategic and operational expertise across a range of consumer-facing businesses, and a proven track record of growth at Sky, with significant experience in customer and digital-first initiatives across multiple channels and sites," said Chair Ian Burke.
Pets at Home's share price was up 0.7% to 410.60 pence each in London on Monday morning.
