Paragon Banking names Robert East as new chair; Clutterbuck to retire

Thu, 28th Jul 2022 11:58

(Alliance News) - Paragon Banking Group PLC on Thursday said it has hired former Barclays PLC executive Robert East as its new non-executive chair with effect from September 1, replacing Fiona Clutterbuck.

The Solihull, England-based lender and savings bank said Clutterbuck has been chair since May 2018, having joined the board in 2012. She will retire as chair and step down from the board.

Paragon said East has over 40 years' experience in UK financial services. As well as holding senior positions at lender Barclays, East was chief executive officer of Cattles Ltd, a consumer finance firm at which he led the wind down of operations from 2010 to 2016.

East also was chair of Vanquis Bank, a subsidiary of Provident Financial PLC, and of Skipton Building Society and Hampshire Trust Bank.

Paragon Banking shares were up 0.1% at 527.50 pence each on Thursday morning in London.
