LONDON (Alliance News) - Molins PLC on Wednesday said it has appointed Antony Steels as chief executive, with effect from June 6, following the resignation of Dick Hunter.

The manufacturer of tobacco processing machinery said Hunter is stepping down to "pursue new interests" after eight years in the role.

Steels joins Molins from Cytec, part of chemicals and advanced materials company Solvay SA, where he was global business director of the Process Materials division.

"I am delighted to announce the appointment of Tony Steels as chief executive. He has extensive experience in engineering and management in both international and UK businesses and a proven track record of value creation. We look forward to working with him as we seek to develop the group," Chairman Phil Moorhouse said in a statement.

Shares in Molins were untraded on Wednesday, last quoted at 57.34 pence.
