Mobile Streams surges on Brazilian apps announcement

The share price of mobile content retailer Mobile Streams shot up Monday as it trumpeted its part in the launch of a mobile application (app) store by Brazilian mobile phone network operator TIM Brazil.Mobile Streams provided its content to the TIM AppShop, launched on 14 October, in conjunction with TIM and US company Qualcomm.The TIM AppShop has an extensive range of apps provided by Mobile Streams, sourced from the UK company's Appitalism.com service. The apps provided run the gamut from entertainment and multimedia to news and utilities. "Qualcomm's collaboration on the TIM AppShop enables more mobile consumers in Brazil with greater access to easy-to-use, innovative applications," said Mitch Oliver, vice president of ecosystem development for Qualcomm Internet Services. "We are pleased with the variety of apps that Mobile Streams has contributed to the application store's catalogue in our collective effort to deliver high-quality mobile content experiences to TIM's subscribers," Oliver added.
