Matchtech raises expectations

Recruitment firm Matchtech expects its full year results to be slightly ahead of market expectations as it sees signs of increased activity in some of the sectors it covers.The company saw profit before tax slide to £4.52m in the six months to 31 January 2010 from £6.34m in the corresponding period of the previous year, on revenue that eased to £125.45m from £138.02m.Matchtec had a record number of contractors on placement at the end of January, at 4,750, and this number has since risen by 5% to exceed 5,000. Since the end of the reporting period permanent recruitment fees have remained on a par with the run rate seen in the first half of the company's financial year. The interim dividend has been maintained at 5p. Made Tech
