Kate Barker joins Electra board as non-exec

Private equity trust Electra has appointed Kate Barker, the former member of the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee, to its board.Barker will join the board as a non-executive director. She is currently a senior adviser to Credit Suisse, chairman of Anglia Ruskin University, a non-executive director of the Homes and Communities Agency and is a member of the council of management of the National Institute of Economic and Social Research. She has held a range of other senior positions, including chief economic adviser to the Confederation of British Industry from 1994 to 2001.She served three terms on the Monetary Policy Committee before leaving in May of this year.
