LONDON (Alliance News) - John Lewis of Hungerford PLC Monday said trading over the Christmas period was in line with expectations, and its sales and forward order book now stands 16% higher than last year at GBP3.6 million.
The kitchen and furniture designer and manufacturer said it is still progressing with the managed roll out of its bedroom furniture range, and has now surpassed GBP100,000 of sales for the range.
"This is consistent with the trend previously reported although it remains the case our relatively long sales cycle means the prevailing level of consumer confidence can impact significantly on our financial performance," said Chairman Malcolm Hepworth in his annual general meeting statement to shareholders.
John Lewis of Hungerford shares were trading flat Monday afternoon at 2.25 pence per share.
