(Alliance News) - IronRidge Resources Ltd on Tuesday announced high-grade results from its Zaranou gold license in the Ivory Coast.
Shares in IronRidge were up 2.9% at 13.89 pence in early afternoon trading.
In total, 324 reconnaissance channel and rock chip samples were collected from artisanal mining sites at Zaranou.
Channel sampling results included 6 metres at 3.7 grams of gold per tonne of ore, with 1 metre at 15.8 grams of gold per tonne. Rock chip sampling results include 69.6 grams of gold per tonne or ore and 48.8 grams of gold per tonne.
These efforts have found a 9.8 kilometre strike length high-priority target zone which contains high-grade gold results.
IronRidge Chief Operating officer Len Kolff said: "Receiving consistent and high-grade channel and rock-chip sampling results from an early stage reconnaissance programme over the Zaranou license area reinforces the significant exploration potential of this project and the strategy to aggressively advance the targets.
"The returned results demonstrate that a high-priority target zone is developing over a 9.8 kilometre strike length at average 800 metre width which remains open along strike in both directions, with coincident hard-rock artisanal workings, high-grade channel and rock-chip sampling results and favourable geology."
Kolff added: "Despite the wet season, which is currently underway and is expected to last until September, field teams are completing a high-resolution drone survey and follow-up field mapping, whilst also planning [aircore] drilling and soil geochemical programmes which will commence in the dry season in October."
