Irish Continental Group PLC - Dublin-based ferry operator - Number of cars carried on its ferries down 65% on a year before in the half year to June to 56,600, and down 67% to 68,900 in 2020 to this July 25. However, Roll On-Roll Off Freight down just 2.7% in half-year and down 1.1% in year to date. Container Freight down 12% in half year and 11% in year to date. Terminal lifts down 14% in both half-year and year to date. Revenue for half-year to June 30 down 22% annually to EUR130.8 million, with Ferries Division revenue down 33% to EUR61.6 million including intra-division income but Container & Terminal Division revenue down just 6.6% to EUR73.2 million. "The key challenge for ICG during the Covid-19 pandemic has been maintaining our shipping schedules which are critical to the supply chain on and off the island of Ireland," it says. Notes that Irish Ferries subsidiary Dublin Ferryport Terminal won a public tender to operate a new container depot at the new Dublin Inland Port, entering into a 20-year lease for this operation.
