IDOX set for strong second half

Document management software provider IDOX's record book is at record levels after some big contract wins in its second quarter."'We have built a record order book in the first half that will translate into higher deliveries in the second. Our strength in the local government market has been demonstrated by our success in winning all three major systems contracts, worth nearly £2m, tendered by the new Unitary Authorities," said Martin Brooks, chairman of the company.Revenue in the six months to 30 April 2009 eased to £15.7m from £16.2m a year earlier, while profit before tax tumbled to £1.9m from £3.2m.The company said the decline in revenue and profits reflected the bias towards the second half of its financial year of deliverables in the pipeline, and added it remains on course to meet expectations for the full year.The order book stood at £9.1m at the end of April, significantly higher than management's expectations. The group's software business had an order backlog of £6.5m at the end of April, up from £3.8m at the beginning of 2009. Recurring revenues in the software business rose to 57% of total group sales, up from 51% at the interim stage in 2009.As promised, the group is paying a maiden interim dividend. Shareholders will receive 0.08p per share.
