Tue, 13th Aug 2019 11:23

(Alliance News) - Hostel-focused booking platform Hostelworld PLC has appointed management and strategy consultant Evan Cohen to its board, it said Tuesday.

Cohen will join Hostelworld on Wednesday, as a non-executive director, and will also join the audit, remuneration, and nomination committees.

Cohen most recently worked at ride-hailing app Lyft, running its US east coast operations, and also worked with social network Bebo and mobile service provider Foursquare.

Hostelworld Chair Michael Cawley said: "We are delighted to welcome Evan to the board of Hostelworld. He brings a wealth of experience in the technology sector having held senior positions in several well-known global technology and media companies including Lyft and Foursquare."

"His expertise in growing and developing platform businesses make him an ideal candidate to join the board, and I know that his knowledge of advising growth companies will be invaluable to Hostelworld."

Shares were 2.2% lower on Tuesday at a price of 165.37 pence each.
