Haydale Graphene Secures Contract From English Institute For Sport

Tue, 03rd Mar 2020 10:50

(Alliance News) - Haydale Graphene Industries PLC on Tuesday said it will partner with the English Institute for Sport and the Welsh Centre for Printing & Coating to deliver a range of advanced wearable technology sport apparel for elite athletes.

The AIM stock was 16% higher in London in morning trade at 1.45 pence a share.

The advanced materials company said the move follows the contract it was awarded in mid-September 2018 by the English Institute of Sport, for the development of advanced wearable technology for athletes in training for the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

On Tuesday, Haydale said the initial prototype testing has been completed in live performance sessions with athletes with "very successful" results for wearability.

The company said it will now continue to produce performance garments for a range of sports in readiness for the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games 2020, supporting the British Olympic and Paralympic teams in innovation and performance gains.

"It is great to see the reward of this project with English Institute for Sport and Welsh Centre for Printing & Coating and we look forward to seeing elite athletes benefit from the improved performance offered through the adapted garments," said Chief Executive Keith Broadbent.
