Griffin Mining Suspends Operations At Caijiaying After Employee Dies

LONDON (Alliance News) - Griffin Mining Ltd Tuesday said mining operations at the Caijiaying mine in China have been temporarily suspended after one of its employees died whilst working underground.

"Mining operations at Caijiaying have been temporarily suspended pending an investigation by both the company and the Chinese authorities into the circumstances causing this death. Needless to say, the safety of the Caijiaying mine site is a priority for all parties concerned. In the interim, the company's thoughts and concerns rest with the deceased and their families," it said in a statement.

No further details were revealed by the company.

Griffin shares were down 0.6% at 39.02 pence per share on Tuesday afternoon.
