Green & Smart Making Good Progress On Malaysian Biogas Plants

Thu, 25th Oct 2018 11:46

LONDON (Alliance News) - Green & Smart Holdings PLC said at its annual general meeting in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday the company is continuing to make progress.

Green & Smart, a renewable energy firm, is "delighted" with the performance of its Malpom biogas power plant, and it hopes to soon get a certificate of commercial operations which would allow it to sell power to Malaysia's national grid.

The company has started work at its third biogas plant, Minyak, and it hopes to fully finish construction in the third quarter of 2019, with grid connection aimed for by the end of 2019.

Green & Smart's other biogas plant is Kahang, where it is currently installing bio-polishing facilities to help further clean the wastewater by-product.

Since the end of March, Green & Smart has received MYR6.8 million, or approximately GBP1.3 million, from Megagreen Energy and Concord Green Energy, for whom it has been building other biogas plants.

Shares were untraded in London on Thursday, last quoted at 6.75 pence each.
