LONDON (Alliance News) - Golden Saint Resources Ltd Friday said a large collection of samples from the Moa and Baja projects in Sierra Leone obtained in the last quarter of 2014 and first quarter of 2015 have been shipped to Diatech Heavy Mineral Services in Australia for analysis.
Golden Saint said 35 stream sediment samples from the Moa project, 43 stream sediment samples and 3 bulk samples from the Baja project have been sent, with the results from the analysis due by June. Golden Saint said Diatech's initial examination recovered a 0.348 carat diamond.
At the Tongo license, also in Sierra Leone, the company said the washing plant is now fully operational and site preparatory work is underway near the project for samples to be collected for further analysis.
During March 2015 a broader exploration programme commenced in all three project areas: Tongo, Moa and Baja. The programme in each comprises soil sampling; identification and mapping of all artisanal workings; and following up on the airborne magnetic survey and heavy mineral analysis results.
Golden Saint shares were up 5.2% to 0.242 pence per share on Friday morning.
