Galliford Try Rings The Changes On Board And Management

Thu, 30th Apr 2015 07:09

LONDON (Alliance News) - Galliford Try PLC Thursday said Peter Truscott, currently a divisional chief at housebuilder Taylor Wimpey PLC, will be its next chief executive from October 1, as the CEO of Berendsen PLC, Peter Ventress, was hired as its deputy chairman and eventual chairman.

In a shake-up of management and the board after a key departure last year, Galliford Try also appointed Grafton Group PLC CEO Gavin Slark as a non-executive director and promoted Ken Gillespie to the role of chief operating officer.

Ventress will become the company's chairman in November 2017, with Greg Fitzgerald holding the role between the start of next January until then. In a separate statement, Berendsen said Ventress will stand down as its CEO on July 31.

"I am pleased that Peter Truscott has agreed to join Galliford Try as Chief Executive. Peter brings great knowledge and experience of our industry and the Board has every confidence in his ability to continue the strategy for disciplined growth that has already started delivering for shareholders," Terry Miller, the chair of the board's nomination committee said in a statement.

Truscott is currently Divisional Chairman, South at Taylor Wimpey and a member of the group management team.

Galliford's current CEO Greg Fitzgerald assumed the additional role of executive chairman last October when its non-executive chairman Ian Coull stepped down due to other business and personal commitments.
