LONDON (Alliance News) - Friends Life Group Ltd Wednesday said that investors holding its shares at 1800 BST on Thursday will be entitled to receive the second interim dividend payment of 24.1 pence per share.

In a statement, Friends Life said its shares should not trade ex-dividend before 1800 BST on Thursday, responding to a fall in its share price.

Friends Life expects its shares to be suspended from trading from 0730 BST on Friday as part of the procedure that will see Aviva buy it in a GBP5.6 billion takeover.

Aviva shares went ex-dividend on Wednesday.

Friends Life shares were down 2.2% at 420.99 pence on Wednesday.
