Feedback's Bleepa inks deal with Qure.ai for X-ray image processing

Tue, 14th Sep 2021 14:09

(Alliance News) - Feedback PLC on Tuesday said it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Qure.ai for a technical collaboration with its core product, Bleepa.

Feedback is a London-based medical imaging technology company, while Qure.ai is an artificial intelligence provider focused on tools for medical imaging professionals with offices in Mumbai and New York.

Bleepa is Feedback's core product, and allows front-line clinicians and medical teams to assess imaging results and patient decisions remotely and securely.

The partnership will explore Bleepa as a vehicle for studying X-rays and other medical imaging, processing Qure.ai's artificial intelligence algorithms and sending medical reports back to clinicians.

It will also explore product opportunities in India as well as the UK, focusing on X-ray facilities in rural India.

"Currently, in rural settings it is difficult to get X-rays formally reported by a radiologist because there is no digital infrastructure to enable image sharing," commented Feedback.

"Bleepa can facilitate the upload of the X-ray or in-field images for Qure.ai's technology to assess on the spot."

Bleepa was given a UKCA mark back in June, which offers post-Brexit UK regulatory certification. It is available on Apple App Store and Google Play.

Feedback chief executive Tom Oakley said he hopes the partnership will forge a pathway for a new, global approach to diagnostic testing and screening.

"Although we are looking at India initially, Qure.ai are a great partner and their technologies hold just as much benefit here in the UK and we are excited to explore a number of opportunities for the technologies within the NHS and UK private market," added Oakley.

Shares in Feedback were up 4.3% at 0.73 pence on Tuesday in London.
