(Alliance News) - Feedback PLC on Monday announced it has received funding from Amazon Web Services Inc to support its cloud-based tuberculosis screening programme in India.
Shares in Feedback were up 14% at 0.92 pence on Monday in London following the announcement.
The Sussex-based medical imaging technology company said that Amazon Web Services will provide non-equity funding to support the initial hosting costs of its cloud-based tuberculosis screening pilot.
The funding was achieved through Amazon Web Services' diagnostics development initiative which aims to help accelerate research and innovation to advance the collective understanding and detection of infectious diseases in order to mitigate current and future outbreaks.
The pilot will take place in rural communities in India and will allow for X-ray images to be sent to a virtual cloud to be processed by clinical and artificial intelligence partners, Feedback stated.
The screening pathway will be hosted by Feedback's Bleepa Box, a cloud-hosted infrastructure, and is hoped by the company to connect remote communities with clinical experts.
If the pilot is successful, Feedback said it hopes to scale the service across India.
