Tue, 14th May 2019 12:11

LONDON (Alliance News) - Bank of Ireland Group PLC on Tuesday announced the appointment of Eileen Fitzpatrick as a non-executive director, effective Wednesday.

Fitzpatrick has "extensive" public sector and capital markets experience, Bank of Ireland said, and has been head of the New Economy & Recovery Authority at Ireland's National Treasury Management Agency since 2011.

She previously was chief executive of AIB Investment Managers, between 2000 and 2006, and before that held senior investment and stockbroking positions at the likes of Goodbody Stockbrokers and Montgomery Govett.

Bank of Ireland Chair Patrick Kennedy said: "I am delighted to welcome Eileen to the board of Bank of Ireland, and I look forward to working with her.

"She brings to the board a strong background in both the public and private sector, with extensive experience at senior executive, board and governmental level."

Shares were 1.7% higher on Tuesday at a price of EUR5.25 each.
