LONDON (Alliance News) - Distil PLC Wednesday said "one of the largest supermarket retailers in the UK" has listed its RedLeg Spiced Rum brand for its stores.
The owner of premium drinks brands said the new listing significantly increases the its presence in the UK adding to the growing number of bars that stock the brand. It didn't name the supermarket.
The company also said that Blackwoods Limited Edition 60% Gin has now been fully approved by the US Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau for sale in the US, and will be distributed throughout the US, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico by The Winebow Group.
It added that first orders of Blackwoods Small Batch Gin have been shipped to the US, soon to be followed by first orders of Blavod Black Vodka, both of which have been redesigned and warmly received in the market.
The company is also preparing promotional initiatives for the summer season in the UK, including the RedLeg "Rum Shack" to be held at a number of food festivals.
"We are delighted that RedLeg Spiced Rum has been listed by one of the largest supermarket retailers in the UK and hope that we can boost sales as well as create a much greater awareness for this growing brand as it becomes more widely available and known," Chairman Don Goulding said in a statement.
"This is also further good news for us for the US, where we continue to make progress, after some initial delays, in gaining approval for all our re-designed brands. We expect the first shipments of Blackwoods Small Batch Gin to be dispatched shortly followed by initial shipments of Blavod Black Vodka. Going forward we expect to build our US presence progressively as our other premium brands become fully approved by the TTB," Goulding added.
