CORRECTED-UK's National Express considers German rail ruling challenge

BERLIN, April 28 (Reuters) - British transport companyNational Express is considering challenging a decisionby a Bavarian procurement chamber denying it permission tooperate the Nuremberg S-Bahn services despite being namedpreferred bidder.

Tobias Richter, the head of National Express in Germany, said the Bavarian state procurement chamber had concernsregarding the documents submitted.

"I assume that we will take this to the state court inMunich," Richter said.

He added that as long as the case was being heard at thestate court it would prevent any other rivals from winning thecontract to operate the Nuremberg rails.

The company said earlier this year it had been namedpreferred bidder by the Bavarian transport authority to runNuremberg S-Bahn services from December 2018, taking over fromDeutsche Bahn's DB Regio unit.
