The Dow Jones industrial average was down 0.30 percent at 18,055.89, the S&P 500 was down0.24 percent at 2,109.71 and the Nasdaq Composite wasdown 0.22 percent at 5,044.417.

** LUMBER LIQUIDATORS HOLDINGS INC, $27.82, -16.76pct

The hardwood flooring retailer reported a 2 percent fall innet sales so far in April and said it could not provide afull-year forecast.

** TWITTER INC, $40.78, -3.53 pct

The Microblogging site reported quarterly revenue that fellshort of Wall Street estimates and cut its full-year forecastdue to weak demand for its new direct response advertising.

** HILTON WORLDWIDE HOLDINGS INC, $30.74, +4.42 pct

The hotel operator reported higher-than-expected quarterlyrevenue, helped by higher room rates and increased occupancy.

** GRUBHUB INC, $42.72, -5.70 pct

The online food order and delivery company's quarterlyprofit missed market estimates due to a jump in expenses andtaxes.

** MASTERCARD INC, $92.47, +2.48 pct

The world's No. 2 debit and credit card company reported a17 percent rise in quarterly profit as more people used itscards worldwide.

** GOODYEAR TIRE & RUBBER CO, $28.72, +5.78 pct

The largest U.S. tire maker reported a better-than-expectedquarterly profit as it shrugged off the effect of a strongerdollar by managing its costs.

** GENERAL DYNAMICS CORP, $138.95, +4.10 pct

The U.S. weapons maker on Wednesday reportedhigher-than-expected earnings and revenue for the first quarter.

** STARWOOD HOTELS & RESORTS WORLDWIDE INC, $87.5,+8.29 pct

The company, which owns the St. Regis and Sheraton hotelbrands, said it was exploring strategic and financialalternatives and "no option is off the table."

** GARMIN LTD, $45.62, -3.94 pct

The maker of GPS-based gadgets' quarterly revenue rose muchless than expected as a strong dollar ate into its overseasincome.

** HANNON ARMSTRONG SUSTAINABLE INFRASTRUCTURE CAPITAL, $19.18, -0.78 pct

The company, a provider of debt and equity financing forinfrastructure projects, said it will issue 4 million shares,representing 14 percent of its outstanding stock, in a publicoffering.

** ONCOLYTICS BIOTECH INC, $0.7551, +6.94 pct

The drug developer's lead pancreatic cancer drug, Reolysin,got orphan drug status from the European health regulator.

** SPIRIT AIRLINES INC, $74.8899, -3.84 pct

The airlines on Wednesday reported first-quarter profitgrowth in line with analysts' expectations and said unit revenuefell in part because of falling airfare.

** ARIAD PHARMACEUTICALS INC, $9.1235, +2.86 pct

Sarissa Capital Management LP said Ariad's Harvey Bergerwould retire as CEO as part of a deal to settle the hedge fund'sproxy battle with the drugmaker.

** XPO LOGISTICS INC, $46.01, +8.39 pct

The company has agreed to buy France's Norbert DentressangleSA for $3.53 billion, including debt, in a deal itsays will make it one of the top 10 logistics company in theworld.

** GENWORTH FINANCIAL INC, $8.66, +8.39 pct

The life and mortgage insurer is considering strategicoptions, including going private or selling its global life andannuity insurance unit (GLAIC), Chief Executive Tom McInerneysaid.

** BARCLAYS PLC, $15.82, -1.68 pct

The British bank set aside another 800 millionpounds ($1.2 billion) on Wednesday to cover potentialsettlements for alleged foreign exchange manipulation, hittingprofits and reflecting its struggle to put past problems behindit.

** AKAMAI TECHNOLOGIES INC, $74.1, -2.59 pct

The company, whose service helps speed up delivery of onlinecontent, forecast current-quarter profit below analysts'expectations, citing a stronger dollar.

** UNITED STATES STEEL CORP, $24.55, -8.33 pct

The U.S. steelmaker cut its full-year forecast for adjustedearnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortizationforecast to $700 million to $900 million from $1.1 billion to$1.4 billion.

** WYNN RESORTS LTD, $113.96, -12.66 pct

The casino operator reported weaker-than-expectedfirst-quarter profit, hurt by lower revenue from its Macauoperations.

** HUMANA INC, $173.68, -4.10 pct

The U.S. health insurer reported a lower-than-expectedprofit in the first quarter as expenses related to claims in itsretail and group segments increased.

** IAC/INTERACTIVECORP, $72.345, +1.24 pct

The company, which owns video sharing service Vimeo andeducation service Princeton Review, reported ahigher-than-expected quarterly profit as subscription revenuerose from its dating websites and the company said user responseto the paid version of its Tinder dating app was better than ithad anticipated.

** TEMPUR SEALY INTERNATIONAL INC, $61.37, +1.77 pct
