BT Business Launches 4G Mobile Plans For SMEs

Mon, 04th Aug 2014 10:25

LONDON (Alliance News) - BT Group PLC's BT Business unit Monday said it has launched 4G mobile plans for Small- and medium-sized business customers, including unlimited Wi-Fi access.

The new mobile plans comes after BT in July launched 'BT One Phone', its new mobile service for so-called SME customers. The plans range from single user to shared bundles, data-only plans and a Mobile Flex plan which will offer tailored pricing to larger customers.

The services will run on the BT Business national mobile service, enabled via its mobile virtual network operator agreement with EE Ltd signed earlier this year.

BT pulled out of the mobile market in 2001, when it split off its BT Cellnet division, which was relaunched in 2002 as O2. But it snapped up 4G spectrum coverage in an Ofcom auction last year, and in March, it signed the agreement with EE to access its 2G, 3G and 4G services.

"Our research shows that 24% of employees now work regularly out of the office," said Graham Sutherland, CEO of BT Business.

"Our new plans give customers the connectivity they need to help them stay productive when out and about, along with the flexibility to choose a plan that suits their way of working," Sutherland added.

BT Group shares were down 0.5% to 379.9 pence on Monday.
