BP Whiting hydrotreater restarts; was shut by Aug fire -sources

HOUSTON, Sept 22 (Reuters) - BP Plc restarted ahydrotreating unit (HTU) serving a gasoline-producing fluidiccatalytic cracking unit over the weekend at the company's413,500 barrel per day (bpd) Whiting, Indiana refinery for thefirst time since an Aug. 27 fire, said sources familiar withoperations at the refinery.

The sources said the unit was moving to full productionlevels on Monday. The unit was shut when a fire broke out on thenight of Aug. 27 in a compressor on the HTU.

A BP spokesman declined to discuss operations at therefinery on Monday. (Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by James Dalgleish)
