BP Pays $71 Mln Gulf Cleanup Bill; Reviewing $51 Mln Claim -AP

DOW JONES NEWSWIRES BP PLC (BP) has paid two bills totaling $71 million to cover initial clean up costs related to the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, meeting a July 1 deadline, the Associated Press reported Tuesday, citing the Obama administration. The bills were paid earlier this month. A third bill from the federal government, for $51.4 million, is still being reviewed and processed by BP, the administration said.
