(Sharecast News) - BlueRock Diamonds has recovered a 20.72 carat stone of gem quality.
The AIM-listed diamond mining company, which owns and operates the Kareevlei diamond mine in the Kimberley region of South Africa, said this is the second stone recovered from Kareevlei in excess of 20 carats.
The previous stone, which was 24.98 carats, sold for $190,000. BlueRock said the sale price of the current stone will be announced following the completion of the October tender.
Executive chairman Mike Houston said: "I am highly encouraged by the recovery of yet another significant stone which is of a similar quality to a number of other larger stones that we have recovered recently. I look forward to updating the market on the sale price following the completion of the October tender."
At 1020 BST, the shares were up 12.3% at 142p.
