Avon Rubber To Beat Market View After Strong Finish To Year

Tue, 06th Oct 2015 06:59

LONDON (Alliance News) - Rubber products manufacturer Avon Rubber PLC on Tuesday said it expects its adjusted operating profit for the year to the end of September will come in ahead of market forecasts.

Avon said its financial year to September 30 ended "strongly", driven by a large late order for respirators from an unnamed Middle East-based customer.

This order, along with good trading in the North American law enforcement market, means the group expects its adjusted operating profit to beat the market view.

It will publish its full-year results November 18.

"We have world leading respiratory protection products and, while predicting the timing of orders is often difficult, the ability to meet this customer's requirement demonstrates our operational flexibility and the dedication of the team to exceed our customers' expectations," said Andrew Lewis, the company's interim chief executive.

Avon last week appointed Rob Rennie as its new permanent chief executive, effective from December 1. He joins the company from Invensys PLC, the engineering and IT services company, where he was most recently president of its energy controls business.
