Amec Foster Wheeler Starts Work On Generating Station Project In US

LONDON (Alliance News) - Oil and gas services company Amec Foster Wheeler PLC on Tuesday said it has started work on an engineering, procurement and construction contract at Trimble County in the US state of Kentucky.

The FTSE 250-listed firm is taking on the contract with Louisville Gas & Electric Co and Kentucky Utilities and will work on transitioning the Trimble County Generating Station's coal combustion residuals processing from a wet system to a new closed pipe dry conveyor system.

No financial details on the contract were disclosed.

"We are delighted that LG&E and KU have selected us to help them further reduce their environmental impact and comply with federal regulations. We look forward to continuing our strong partnership with them," said Tom Dodson, Amec Foster Wheeler's Power & Process Americas division president.
