Alien Metals updates market on progress at Los Campos and San Celso

Thu, 09th Jan 2020 10:06

(Sharecast News) - Exploration and development company Alien Metals is in the process of submitting applications for permission to drill at its Los Campos and San Celso silver projects in Mexico, it announced on Thursday.
The AIM-traded firm said that in addition, its technical director Bill Brodie Good, would be conducting a site visit to those projects imminently.

Both of those events tied into potential long term development plans for the projects, the board said.

It said detailed exploration drill programmes had been planned for the Los Campos and San Celso silver exploration projects.

A ground magnetics survey was in the final planning stage for the Donovan 2 copper gold volcanic massive sulphide (VMS) target, which would generate follow-up work and potential drill targets.

The board said a submission to the Environmental Ministry of Mexico, as per Mexican regulations, of drill programmes to obtain permission to drill at Los Campos and San Celso was "imminent".

Discussions with various drilling companies were said to be in progress, and a site visit was planned by the technical director in January, including meetings with service providers and potential joint venture partners.

The technical director would complete site visits at all of the company's tenements, the board confirmed.

"I am very excited to get on the ground in Mexico and to spend time with our local team," said technical director Bill Brodie Good.

"Additionally, I am looking forward to meeting with some local service providers, as well as other companies working in the region in order to advance possible Joint Venture discussions."

With the submission of the drill programmes, Good said he was hoping permission would be obtained soon, to give Alien the opportunity to carry out initial drill testing on the "highly prospective" Los Campos and San Celso projects.

"I am also hoping to access some of the historic underground workings to get a better understanding of their condition and see some of the mineralisation in -situ."

At 1001 GMT, shares in Alien Metals were down 6.98% at 0.2p.
