UK EXECUTIVE CHANGE SUMMARY: Naked Wines, Tissue Regenix Make US Moves

Tue, 17th Nov 2020 15:40

(Alliance News) - The following is a round-up of London-listed company director and manager changes announced on Tuesday and not separately reported by Alliance News:

----------

Naked Wines PLC - Norwich, Norfolk-based online wine retailer - Hires Shawn Tabak as chief financial officer, starting December 7. Tabak replaces James Crawford, who is moving over to become managing director of the Naked Wines business in the UK. Tabak was vice president of Finance at Upwork Inc, a work marketplace, and he will be based in Napa, California. "Recruiting this role in the USA, our largest market, is another key step in our transition from British start-up to a US-led global pure-play," says Chief Executive Officer Nick Devlin.

----------

Tissue Regenix Group PLC - regenerative medical devices spun out from University of Leeds - Promotes Danny Lee to CEO, effective immediately. US-based Lee has been president of US operations since joining in January 2019. Prior to Tissue Regenix, Lee was CEO for Scaffold Biologics and Aperion Biologics. Lee replaces Interim CEO Gareth Jones, who moved into the role from CFO in August of last year. Jones will leave the company at the end of the year.

----------

boohoo Group PLC - Manchester-based online fashion retailer - Hires Trainline PLC Chief Financial Officer Shaun McCabe as independent non-executive director, effective immediately. McCabe also is a non-executive director of household appliances online seller AO World PLC. Prior to rail ticket seller Trainline, he was international director at boohoo rival ASOS PLC and CFO for Amazon.com Inc in Europe.

----------

THG Holdings PLC - Manchester-based online marketplace - Hires Damian Sanders as independent non-executive director, effective immediately. Sanders was a senior audit partner at Deloitte in Manchester. He also is on the board of movie house chain Cineworld Group PLC. THG, better known as Hut Group, raised GBP1.88 billion in its London stock market float in September.

----------

WH Ireland Group PLC - London-based broker and corporate financier - Hires Fraser Marshall from Arden Partners PLC to be head of newly formed Capital Markets division. Marshall had been head of Equities at Arden since 2017.

----------

Bank of Ireland Group PLC - Dublin-based lender - Hires Giles Andrews as independent non-executive director, effective from Tuesday. Andrews co-founded online peer-to-peer lending marketplace Zopa in 2004 and remains a member of the Zopa board.

----------

Webis Holdings PLC - Douglas, Isle of Man-based on-line and land-based gaming - Nigel Caine resigns as non-executive director from Tuesday "to pursue a new opportunity". Says responsibilities will be assumed in the short-term by other directors and executives.

----------

Scancell Holdings PLC - Oxford, England-based immunotherapies for treatment of cancer and infectious disease - Hires Gillies O'Bryan-Tear as chief medical officer and Robert Miller as medical director. O'Bryan-Tear was chief medical officer of Algeta, a listed Norwegian biotech company that was bought by Bayer AG in 2014. Miller is a managing partner in Artemida Pharma, a drug development consultancy. Says appointments are part of company effort to advance the clinical development and commercialisation of cancer treatments and to develop a vaccine for COVID-19.

----------

Standard Life UK Smaller Companies Trust PLC - Appoints Abby Glennie as co-manager of its portfolio, effective immediately. Says Glennie's promotion is part of succession planning, as she has been supporting manager Harry Nimmo for some time. Nimmo will remain as co-manager for the "next couple of years". Aberdeen Smaller Companies Income Trust PLC separately says Amanda Yeaman is promoted to co-manager of its portfolio, alongside Glennie.

----------
