DUBAI, May 17 (Reuters) - Vodafone Qatar, anaffiliate of Vodafone Group, posted a wideningfourth-quarter loss on Tuesday.
The operator made a net loss of 180 million riyals ($49.5million) in the three months to March 31, according to a boursestatement.
That compares with a loss of 66 million riyals in theprior-year period. Vodafone Qatar's financial year starts onApril 1.
Vodafone Qatar has yet to make a quarterly net profit sinceending state-controlled Ooredoo's domestic monopoly in2009. Vodafone has now reported widening losses for six straightquarters as rival Ooredoo cut prices and fought hard to expandits revenue share.
Vodafone Qatar's net loss for the 2015-16 financial year was465.7 million riyals, it said in a statement. This compares witha loss of 215.8 million riyals in the previous year.
