LONDON (Alliance News) - Vodafone Group PLC said Friday that Vodafone Germany secured spectrum for mobile data and voice services for EUR2.09 billion in the German Federal Network Agency's auction.
It said that this spectrum will help enhance its 4G network in Germany, increasing its data traffic capacity.
It has acquire rights to two packages of 10 megahertz in both the 700 megahertz and 900 megahertz bands, 20 megahertz in the 1.5 gigahertz band, and two packages of 25 megahertz in the 1.8 gigahertz band.
Vodafone also has appointed Hannes Ametsreiter, the outgoing chief executive of Telekom Austria Group to take up the position of chief executive officer of Vodafone Germany from the beginning of October.
Shares in Vodafone are trading up 0.6% at 234.4 pence Friday afternoon.
