LONDON (Alliance News) - Vodafone Group PLC said Monday it has extended its partner market agreement with sub-Saharan Africa telecommunications provider Afrimax Group to cover Zambia.
Under the agreement the two companies will offer 4G data services under the 'Vodafone Zambia' brand.
Afrimax has appointed Lars Stork as chief executive officer of Vodafone Zambia, which will be head-quartered in Lusaka.
This agreement expands on an existing framework agreement between the two companies to co-operate and explore potential partner market opportunities in sub-Saharan Africa, under which they have already partnered to launch 4G services in Uganda.
"We are delighted that Zambia will be joining the Vodafone Partner Market community as the next stage in our agreement with Afrimax for sub-Saharan Africa. We look forward to bringing the best high-speed 4G data services to consumers and businesses in Zambia," said Stefano Gastaut, chief executive of partner markets at Vodafone in a statement.
