FTSE 100-listed mobile communications company Vodafone has today announced the addition of two new high performance smartphones designed to accelerate the adoption of mobile internet usage within the mass market. The Smart III is a smartphone with a high-resolution four-inch screen at a price below €100 for a prepaid customer. The group said that it would also be offering a version of the Smart III with Near Field Communications technology (NFC), enabling customers to use their phone when managing everyday transactions. Vodafone also announced the launch of the Smart mini, with a starting price of less than €60. The group said that the Smart mini and Smart III would be available on prepaid and postpaid price plans, including Vodafone's "Red" proposition. Patrick Chomet, Group Director of Terminals at Vodafone, said: "In combination with our innovative, industry-leading prepaid and Vodafone Red price plans, the Smart mini and Smart III will allow customers to make the most of their smartphone and get the best of the Vodafone experience without breaking the bank."Vodafone's share price was down 5.61% to 180.65p at 08:20 on Wednesday.MF
